The 2003 FIJI Run Across Virginia was an incredible success.  Together with our sponsors and from donations around the state and country we were able to raise over $35,000 dollars.  The run went smoothly being that it was the first year this had ever been attempted, with our police escorts taking us across the state from Blacksburg to Charlottesville.

     The check presentation took place before the game and was met by the UVA fans with cheering and applause for FIJI and our accomplishments. 

     In addition to receiving press on both campuses the run was featured in multiple papers around the state, and even made the front page of a few of the papers that wrote articles.  The Virginia Tech chapter won awards at their schools yearly Greek awards event for best philanthropy event, and an article on the event was published in the Phi Gamma Delta national magazine.  In addition, The V Foundation named the FIJI Run Across Virginia as one of their mVp events in 2003.  Their article written about the run can be found here.
